Apple Keyboard Explanation

Apple mojave support. Did you know that dozens of special characters and symbols are present in the Apple iOS keyboard, which are not visible? Also, if you have do add a degree symbol to your text on iPhone, how would you do that? In this short post, I will show you how you can quickly type these special characters and symbols on your iPhone without installing any third-party keyboard app.

Explanation; Windows: PC keyboards have a Windows key that looks like a four-pane, wavy window. Command: Apple Mac computers have a command key. Menu: PC keyboards also have a Menu key that looks like a cursor pointing to a menu. Esc: Esc (escape) key. F1 - F12: What are the F1 through F12 keys? F13 - F24: Information about the F13 through F24. A variety of Bluetooth keyboards are now available for paired use with the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad. Many of these are mini-keyboards with only a subset of the keys of the Apple Wireless Keyboard, or requiring the press of modifier keys like an 'Fn' key to activate alternate functions. You can have VoiceOver announce these key functions by entering keyboard help mode or by visiting the practice gestures area of the Setting menu as an alternative to pressing the Control-Option-K keys on.

Using the method shown below you can see and insert accented characters (like é in café), extended punctuation (…), special symbols (°), ligatures (æ), currency symbols (₹) and more, right from your inbuilt iOS keyboard. At the end of this post, I have also listed special characters and symbols which are currently supported.

How to Type Special Characters and Symbols on iPhone or iPad

Step #1. When you are typing in Messages, Notes, Mail etc, touch and hold on the letter, number, or symbol, which has these character(s). See the iPhone special characters list below.

Step #2. You will see that a pop-up selector shows up.

Step #3.Drag your touch to select the desired unique character.

Note: If you leave/lift your touch the pop-up will disappear.

Apple Keyboard For Ipad

There are a lot of special characters and symbols which are currently supported. In this list below, on the right side of colon (:) is the key you need to press on your iPhone's keyboard to see the symbols that are on the left of colon.

So, this is how you can type these uncommon symbols in your text box to make your writing accurate and correct. Educators, learners, students, etc. use these in their papers, office texts, and more. Many people also utilize them to make their Instagram and Twitter profile description look different. Whatever be your need, I just showed you how you could insert these special words and signs in your text on your iPhone. You can do the same with your Mac keyboard.
